HAPPY 2010!!!
A bit delayed, but all the best to you [whoever you are!] in 2010. There's something really great about being given a blank canvas, even if it is a hypothetical one!
So Blog du JJ Readers, what are your hopes for 2010? I'm still waiting on that banana cake. ;)
Need some inspiration? The UK company We Are What We Do has some great ideas here.
* * *
Megan Rowe of South Africa was given a brief in her brand communications class to come up with a campaign for We Are What We Do, and developed this:
From the WAWWD blog:
"Megan designed product packaging to go with four actions to inspire people to help the environment and their relationship at the same time. Two birds with one stone, if you will.
She created packaging for an organic soap, to encourage the action 'take a bath with your partner', in order to save water. An envelope holds a road map to encourage couples to take a road trip instead of holidaying by plane. And to save electricity Megan created condom packaging, for the action, 'have sex with the lights off', and a candle, for 'have a candle lit dinner'.
Megan wanted to convey the message that it's easy to take small steps towards improving both the environment and your personal life, by taking a fun and light hearted approach. Lovely!"
Now there's something we can all aspire to. Happy 2010!

Drewie & Drewia
I finally had the pleasure of watching Julie & Julia over the Christmas hols with my Mom. It once again confirmed to me that if I were to ever have a dinner party, Nora Ephron would be the guest of honor. And as most Rom Coms do to me, I suddenly decided I'd be an amazing chef after watching the film. So far I've microwaved two pizza pops.
Which brings me to the main point of this blog entry. No, I am in no way making postmodern tragic history and re-doing the Julie & Julia challenge. Instead, I am finding amazing recipes and asking others to make them for me.
Recipe #1 is the most amazing looking Banana Cake I've ever seen in my life. Posted by a man called Drew who worrisomely writes a blog called How To Cook Like Your Grandmother [i'm sexist], he had me at hello. I mean, the brown sugar buttercream frosting.
If you and I know eachother, please make it for me. If not, please enjoy it at home.
Full recipe here.

Tea for Eight
My New Year's resolution was to do something about about my growing teacup problem (a relatively popular one, I'm sure.) Debbie Travis shelves to the rescue! I've learned that optimizing vertical space is key for small spaces.
